About JR

J.R.’s author origin story started off like most others: with the spark of passion to create. As an avid reader, she always had a book cracked open (possibly in the middle of high school and college classes…), and loved to be swept away with tales of magic, adventure, overcoming adversity, and the heroine/hero winning the day. Like any author, J.R. also had an arch-nemesis: never letting anyone read her writing. Vulnerability was her kryptonite, but with the help of external and internal motivators, she used her trusty vibranium shield to keep out the evil.

What of J.R.’s alter ego? Currently, she teaches World History and World Geography in Hampton Roads, Virginia. When not enlightening the minds of America’s youth or weaving a heroine’s epic journey, she takes time to play with her dog, Juno, and cat, Minerva, as well as binge watch the latest streaming content that has caught her attention.

In short, J.R. is a teacher, writer, Hufflepuff, Captain America/comic enthusiast, and blogger.
